On the Road Home, Illinois, USA -- June 7th, 2011

Occasion: Band Trip 2011

When you're on a bus, awake and surrounded by sleeping silence and the comfort of a dying iPod in the ungodly hours of the morning, 3:49 to be exact, having the only thing to do is watching the road ahead, you begin to think a little. The thing about travel is that it's just roads. Miles and miles of roads to travel on and over a million rest stops and places along the way. But, what makes traveling these roads unique is the things, the experiences, that you stumble upon your travels. People especially. So if you ever wonder why travel is so special, why people love it, think of all the possibilities and adventures you could have.

Outside of a Hardee's in Normandy, Florida, USA -- June 6th, 2011

Occasion: Band Trip 2011

Well, like they all say, a journey must always come to an end. But I don't believe that really. Going home is still a leg of the journey and home itself is a rest stop in your travels. Of course, home is nice. And as overused this quote is, there's no place like home. Another good quote is home is no better than the people you know there. Home is an amazing place, a pit stop during a long travel that you can always return to. But, the thing about home is that it can change. Sometimes you can have two homes. And maybe, you end up with no home at all. But for now, my home is in Independence, the Gateway to the West, the beginning of travels.

Docked at Nassau, Bahamas -- June 4th, 2011

Occasion: Band Trip 2011

Well, my first time in a different country. All I have to say is that I'm a bit disappointed; but that's partially my fault. Here's a little something about me: I adore culture. It plays a huge role in history and has shaped every country that exists today. When I stepped off the ship, the first thing I thought was Americanized. Basically, it was just a huge tourist place. But once you get passed the sugar coated tourism, you get to see the real culture, the reality. Unfortunately, I did not get to experience the culture of Nassau, Bahamas. This is because we had to be in groups, and my group decided to go to a beach and an aquarium near some stupid casino/hotel. Yay. I do plan on going back someday though and make up for what I missed.

Orlando, Florida, USA -- June 1st - 2nd 2011

Occasion: Band Trip 2011

The journey has been long, tiring, and yet exciting. Now, we have reached the first destination: Orlando, Florida, USA! At first, it looked like any other city only with the exception of Disney World and Universal Studios. But the longer I stayed, the more wonders that I saw. I saw a theme park that has been built by some of the most creative minds, especially in the Wizarding World. I saw people from all over the world, not caring that they're in America, only caring about having fun and going on an adventure. I saw employees who loved doing their job and put their all into it. And finally, I saw people who took their ideas, exposed them to the world, making them known, making it so that they would not be forgotten.
The greatest minds that the world has witnessed, most of which in the 1900s in my opinion, will not be forgotten. For instance, John Lennon. At Hard Rock Cafe Orlando, they have a room that only celebrities, bands, and band kids are allowed: the John Lennon Room. The Beatles are by far the greatest band this world has seen and John Lennon was one of the greatest musicians and songwriters. The room is made for only John Lennon memorabilia; one of the most valuable piece they have is Lennon's settee. A small couch with a grand value. John Lennon would sit in that couch and think up some of the greatest songs this world has heard. The cushions on it were even original and we were allowed to touch the cushion which his head would be. Of course, I didn't pass the chance.
The day has now come and gone and a new adventure has been added to history. It makes you wonder if you'll be remembered or not. But, I believe that no matter who you are, you'll be remember by someone, no matter what

Road to Orlando, Florida, USA -- May 31st - June 1st 2011

Occasion: Band Trip 2011

Of course and as usual, I find traveling to a destination quite boring. But, this is not always the case. More often than not, the course can be exciting. You see new things and sights you've never seen. And if you have the opportunity, take a detour and do a bit of exploring. Unfortunately, if you're on a bus full of band kids like myself, you don't get that opportunity. But there's always a next time! So sit back, watch some Harry Potter, look out the window, and imagine what that place you passed by is like!
